Admission $5 for ages 11 and up, free 10 and under. No pets allowed; pet boarding available on site.
50th annual fair with more than 300 handcraft artisans, plus a parade in downtown Ellijay on Friday, Oct. 8 at 6 p.m. and antique car show at Ronnie Thompson Ford on Saturday, Oct. 9.

A smaller version of the Apple Festival is set up on the square allowing you to enjoy a festival, but you can also enjoy local shops and restaurants. This is a free, pet-friendly event. Vendors are set up on broad street next to the Gilmer County Courthouse.

50TH ANNUAL PRATER’S MILL COUNTRY FAIR

Saturday, Oct. 9 – 9 to 6 and Sunday, Oct. 10 – 9 to 5
At the fair, visitors take self-guided tours of Prater’s Mill viewing operating grist and Meadows mills and Shugart Cotton Gin. The 1898 Prater’s Store, Dr. Lacewell’s Office and Westbrook Barn which houses the Goodness-Smith Farm Collection, are also open and located across the road from the Mill. On the “Store-Side” visitors experience the inside of an old country store and can taste authentic Southern meals of chicken and dumplings, collard greens and cornbread cooked on a wood stove, view displays of antique tractors, cars, plows and more.
Continuous live entertainment on the main stage under the Saylors Pavilion features Appalachian-style clogging exhibitions, country bands, and gospel singers. Demonstrations include blacksmithing, quilting, weaving, caning, woodcarving and more. Living History and other historic displays including plows, tractors and cares.

Gold Rush Days, sponsored by the Dahlonega Jaycees and numerous supporters, are a time for thousands to come and see fall colors peaking and celebrate Dahlonega’s 1828
discovery of gold. More than 300 art and craft exhibitors and food vendors gather around the Public Square and Historic
District in support of this annual event. The Gold Rush Days Festival has been voted one of the Top 20 Events in the Southeast by the Southeast Tourism Society.

27TH ANNUAL HERITAGE DAYS FESTIVAL

The business section of Talking Rock is ordinarily a rather quiet place to browse the shops and relax. During the Heritage Days Festival, this little town will be filled with booths featuring a wide variety of arts, crafts and antiques. There will be interesting demonstrations for the young and old, bluegrass and Southern gospel music and good food. Go back in time by visiting the restored 1877 Talking Rock Schoolhouse Teaching Museum. You can also meet the Town Crier and relax with the kids in the park. Admission and parking free.

54TH ANNUAL MOUNTAIN MOONSHINE FESTIVAL

This popular annual event includes a parade of authentic moonshine and race cars, vintage race cars, 250+ arts and crafts vendors, great food, souvenirs, live entertainment, car show, and Moonshine Run. Proceeds go to KARE, Kids Are Really Equal.
