“The whole universe is change, and life itself is but what you
deem it.”
Marcus Aurelius,
From: “Meditations”
Like hound dog with mange
I’m not going to change
Dig, paw, scratch my itch
Easily shun fix
Others I disdain
Novel ones; same refrain
Sing their Pollyanna song
Telling me I’m dead wrong
Eye to eye not to be
Diverse worlds we each see
Their minds flip-flop nonstop
My mind stays same, don’t swap
Glass half-full, half-empty?
Matters not, all have plenty
Get noses out of joint
Good, bad, best misses point
Difficult to make switch
Keep scratching same old itch
Love my familiar mess
Never will I reassess
