Today I watched my best friend say his final goodbye
To the woman who raised him as tears fell from his eye
It was such a sad sight to see him hurting as he was
I wished I could take it away as only a mother does
She was always so nice to me whenever I was around
I couldn’t hold back my tears as she was laid underground
Her preacher said she was saved and now is in heaven
I believe this is true and all her sins were forgiven
It makes me happy to know I will see her again someday
I want her family to do the same so for them I pray
That God will save them most of all and bring to them peace
The kind that only He can give in a time of distress
So to you my friend I pray for you to come to know God
So you too can one day walk with your mom again where only angels trod
You’ve always been there for me even if I didn’t know
As I now am and always will be here for you my bro
Any time day or night no matter where you are
If you need me I’ll be there wherever near and far
May God bless you and keep you close in your time of loss
And may you find peace and rest underneath His cross
