AMAUROSIS

As I shook hands with demons of the night
I filled my lungs with breath and began my final flight
I called for this a simple, a simple solace, but in this asylum none was to be found.
In my own head I am bound
as the drums they pound
In rhythm to sound not heard by mortal plight,
But, but only heard as demons march and angels take flight,
Isolation inside this abyssal night,
Sanity slipping
As the poison im sipping,
Works its way igniting my veins in pain.
Moonlight slips through the bars of my cell
As my body grows closer to hell
And as the fire licks my skin
I know
Never shall I see the light of day again.
